Swedish game developer Play’n GO has received certification for its games to be made available in Colombian and Spanish online gaming sites. Gaming operators that service these locations can now license these games from the Vaxjo-based developer. This is another feather in the cap for Play’n GO.

The company has already obtained licenses to offer games in the United Kingdom, Alderney, Denmark, Italy, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Malta Romania, Latvia and Lithuania. Play’n GO has plans to continue its global expansion and will look to obtain more international certifications going forward.

In a statement, Sissel Weitzhandler, Group Compliance Manager for Play’n GO said

Each certification program or software license we acquire secures our position as the leading games provider to regulated markets and the experience gained throughout the numerous processes will benefit us as we continue to grow into new territories

The certification process is very important as it is a seal of approval endorsing the authenticity and veracity of the gaming developer. This endorsement helps iGaming operators in making a decision on what online casino games they can offer their patrons. The certification processes for Spain and Colombia was pretty rigorous and at the same time very different from each other. The Play’n GO compliance team had to put in a lot of work to ensure that they were able to meet requirements for both countries and receive the necessary approval.

The developer targeted Spain because it is one of Europe’s largest markets. The Spanish gaming regulator Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ) released figures in the third quarter of 2017 that showed that online operators generated €140.5 million. Colombia is also another potentially large market. Gaming analysts are already describing it as another Spain or France when it comes to online gambling growth. This is thanks to the new gambling laws that encourage local and international operators to get a license and set up shop.

Servicing this market gives Play’n GO a chance to work with more customers and boost profits in the long term.

Besides expanding into new markets, Play’n GO is also adding to its game portfolio by purchasing fellow Swedish developer Proactive Gaming Scandinavia AB. Proactive Gaming is best known for its bingo and poker offerings. They also have a lot of mobile offerings that includes mini-games, poker, bingo and scratch cards. Play’n GO has a large collection of slot games to offer but is looking to expand their portfolio with more table games and video poker that can be licensed out.
