That number went up significant in 2017 as the total fines went up to \u20ac1 million. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those fines continued to climb in 2018 as KSA has confirmed that a little over \u20ac1.7 million in fines has been issued to illegal online gambling operators. While those numbers are high, KSA has not confirmed how much of those fines have been collected. One can assume that very little of these fines have been collected as otherwise KSA would have been happy to share the fines collected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the \u20ac1.7 million in fines might come across as impressive, it is still very small when compared to the \u20ac30 million in fines that the <strong>United Kingdom Gambling Commission<\/strong> (UKGC) has imposed on illegal gambling operators in the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Offshore Operators That Were Hit With Fines &nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The majority of these fines were imposed on five operators. The operators that were issued penalties are <strong>William Hill, Bet-at-Home, <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.top10casinowebsites.net\/news\/mr-green-fined-for-unlicensed-services-by-dutch-gaming-regulator\/\"><strong>Mr. Green<\/strong><\/a><strong>, CyberRock\/Honeydew and Betsson<\/strong>. These operators will not just pay up the penalties issued by the KSA as they believe that they haven\u2019t violated any laws. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These operators are licensed in other jurisdictions and do not come under the authority of the KSA. Some of these operators have decided to appeal the fines imposed by the gambling watchdog on the basis that current gambling laws in the Netherlands violate EU gaming laws which call for fair trade between EU countries.
