The outstanding taxes are mainly due to the POGO receivable which account for 98.8 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coa.gov.ph\/phocadownloadpap\/userupload\/annual_audit_report\/GOCCs\/2020\/Corporate-Government-Sector\/Philippine-Amusement-and-Gaming-Corp\/PAGCOR_ES2020.pdf\">2020 COA audit report on PAGCOR<\/a> showed that the gaming regulator had failed to collect the equivalent of several million dollars of receivables from POGOs. Additionally, there was also a certain amount missing from operators of various electronic gambling games.<\/p>\n<p>The report pointed out the over $27 million was missing and PAGCOR was targeted for failing to fulfil its responsibilities. Many of the receivables were due from POGOs that had cancelled their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.top10casinowebsites.net\/casinos\">casino websites<\/a> as well as from operators who had requested and received approval for payment restructuring schemes so that they could pay later.<\/p>\n<p><strong>One News PH<\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"position:relative;height:0;padding-bottom:56.25%\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Zy3yVdo73dk?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0?ecver=2\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;left:0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The online gaming licenses for 8 POGOs who have not been able to pay their dues have already been cancelled while another four are under review. However, three of the POGOs that had their licenses revoked were still operating. Some POGOs have not paid their dues for the last 1 year but there are some POGOs that have not paid for the last 3 years. <\/p>\n<h2>Response From PAGCOR<\/h2>\n<p>Responding to the audit, PAGCOR released a statement that pointed out that all the delayed receivables were because of the regulator\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.top10casinowebsites.net\/news\/philippines-gaming-regulator-donates-money-to-fight-illegal-online-gambling\/\">fight against illegal online gambling<\/a>. The gaming regulator intensified its efforts to fight illegal gambling between 2018 to 2020. This led to investigations into many unlicensed websites that had alleged links to the POGO licensees. <\/p>\n<p>Several websites looked like POGO websites, with even brands and logos copied from legitimate sites. This resulted in the regulator creating tax bills based on the existence of these websites. However, this led to problems as the licensees protested their tax bill, pointing out that these websites were run by illegal operators and they were not earning money from them. <\/p>\n<p>PAGCOR is in the middle of carrying out a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.top10casinowebsites.net\/news\/pagcor-pushes-for-uniformity-in-taxes-for-offshore-gaming-operators\/\">revalidation of its various tax bills to ensure that a legitimate tax record<\/a> would be the result.
