A memo on the survey was released on May 1 and did not include a geographical breakdown of the communities covered by the poll. <\/p>\n<p>The survey\u2019s results don\u2019t come as a surprise as there were earlier indications that the borough is supportive of the plan. Back in March, New York Assembly member Jeffrion Aubry whose district covers Citi Field, submitted a Bill that would pave the way for the development of the casino. <\/p>\n<div style=\"position:relative;height:0;padding-bottom:56.25%\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AI8cniwThDE?rel=0&amp;showinfo=0?ecver=2\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;left:0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In January, Cohen hosted a public \u201c<em>visioning session<\/em>\u201d to gather inputs from residents on future developments around Citi Field. <\/p>\n<p>The session was attended by around 450 people and while some expressed opposition to a casino development in the area citing concerns over traffic congestion and a potential rise in crime and problem gambling, many supported the plan as it would generate jobs and boost the local economy. The local community board also has not publicly opposed the casino bid. <\/p>\n<p>The picture is very much different in Manhattan where community boards have declared their opposition to several casino proposals. In particular, the local community board covering Times Square does not support <a href=\"https:\/\/www.top10casinowebsites.net\/news\/rap-moghul-jay-z-partners-with-caesars-for-times-square-casino-bid\/\">Caesars and SL Green\u2019s joint casino<\/a> venture in the area.<\/p>\n<h2>Competition Intensifies  <\/h2>\n<p>Cohen is looking to win one of the three gaming licenses on offer in downstate New York. Analysts expect two of the licenses to go to MGM Resorts which operates the Empire City Casino in Yonkers, and Genting New York LLC which runs the Resorts World Casino New York City in southeast Queens.  <\/p>\n<p>Cohen is competing for the third license with at least nine developers who have also announced proposals to build a casino in multiple locations including Bronx, Manhattan, Coney
