This American Indian-themed slot reminds us of old time-tested Vegas classics with it’s simplistic design, a sunset background and charming symbols.
It has no background music, which is a shame since a simple and themed one would’ve really completed the experience.
Golden Chief RTP
Golden Chief boasts a theoretical RTP of 96.02%, which is slightly better than the industry average. Games within this RTP range are balanced for long and fair playing times and offer a lot of chances for a juicy win. This welcoming number means that both newer and experienced bettors are welcome to play.
Golden Chief Gameplay
This lovely game wants to take us back to some older times with its classic Native American theme. The button design and UI have that ancient, rugged feel to it, but is still very pleasant to the eye.
The BB button is the Big Bets option that allows you to risk big to earn big. Next is the ? button which tells you the rules of the game. The Autoplay option lets you choose the number of spins and when spinning should be stopped (on a win, or on a loss), which I consider a great advantage in modern slots. Finally, the + and – buttons raise or lower your bet.
Golden Chief Symbols and Bonus Features
Symbols
In order of relevance, there are regular playing card symbols from 10 to K, a Bear, a Totem, an Indian Girl, the Wild symbol and the Chief Wild. The Golden Bonus is the Scatter, and if you land 3 or more of them, you will win Free Spins.
If you bet big, the Chief Wild expands and persists until the end of the big bet. In Big Bet option, if you bet 50 or more, you will have 100 paylines instead of 10!
Features
There’s the Big Bet option that lets you risk big to win big, as all wins during this bonus game mode are added up until the end of the feature. In the Mystery Symbol Upgrade, all symbols of one type can be upgraded to a higher symbol type, up to the Lady symbol.
There are also the Totem Riches and Cash Canyon bonus games that will award a multiplier and a prize if you land them, as well as the Gamble Free Spins feature. This game’s options may sound complicated but it’s all self-explanatory when you dive in and start playing.
Final Verdict
This is a fine game with no downsides that irked me except maybe the lack of a background tune and the win animation. Everything else was straightforward, and I’ve had some fun with it. When you win, the game calculates your win line by line, and this animation is rather slow. To skip it, click anywhere on the screen. This got a bit tiresome after a while for me, but if you’re someone who likes this, go for it!
