new jerseyIt didn’t take long for casinos and racetracks in New Jersey to start accepting sports bets after it became legal in June. With the NFL season right around the corner, there are currently 6 casinos in Atlantic City that will take your sports bets and a pair of racetracks, Monmouth Park and the Meadowlands, are also accepting sports wagers.

Sports betting was responsible for The Garden State hauling in $40.6 Million in July and that figure is expected to rise once the NFL regular season gets underway.

Punters are waiting to find out if the Tropicana and Hard Rock will start offering odds for sports betting but, in the meantime, here are the places in New Jersey where you can bet on sports.

Where To Make Those Sports Bets

The Borgata

The Borgata became the first casino in Atlantic City to accept sports bets when they opened their sportsbook on June 14th. Famed NBA star Julius Erving laid the first wager betting $50 on the Philadelphia Eagles to repeat as Super Bowl champs. The Casino generated $562,830 in revenue from sports betting in July.

Bally’s, Caesars, and Harrah’s Casinos

These three properties are owned by Caesars Entertainment and Bally’s began taking sports bets on July 30th. With Caesars Casino being right next door to Bally’s, the company has no immediate plans to put a sportsbook in Caesars. Instead, guests can go the sportsbook at Bally’s right next door. Meanwhile, Harrah’s began taking sports bets on August 1st. The sportsbooks at both Bally’s and Harrahs are temporary and both casinos will have new sports betting facilities built in the next 9 months.

Golden Nugget Casino

Located in the marina district near the Borgata, the Golden Nugget took its first sports bet on August 15 th . Because there is a perceived conflict of interest due to Tilman Fertitta owning both the Houston Rockets and the Golden Nugget, the Golden Nugget will not be allowed to accept NBA bets.

Ocean Resort Casino

The Ocean Resort Casino opened its doors on June 28 and immediately allowed sports betting. Ocean teamed up with William Hill which operates over 100 sportsbooks and racetracks in the state of Nevada. Ocean Resort generated the most sports betting revenue in July hauling in over $1 million.

Resorts Casino

This casino became the first in New Jersey to offer online and mobile sports betting platforms. The sportsbooks took its first sports bet on August 15th. The Resorts partnered with The Stars Group and DraftKings for their sports betting platforms.

The Meadowlands and Monmouth Park

The Meadowlands raked in around $3.5 million in sports wagers in the 9 days after they began accepting sports bets on July 14th. Monmouth Park, which was instrumental in the state’s fight to legalize sports betting, opened their sports wagering windows on June 14th
