Finlandia Casino Focuses On Global Expansion as it Rebrands To Winlandia

Summary:

  • Finlandia Casino is now doing business under its new name Winlandia Casinod
  • The online casino aims to expand its international reach by launching in key regulated marketsd
  • The decision to rebrand was due in part to the major gambling regulatory changes in Finland

Finlandia Casino is expanding its global footprint with planned launches in key markets in Europe and out.

The online casino will now operate under a new brand Winlandia, with improved game offerings, additional payment options, and enhanced customer service, according to a recent announcement from the company.

Winlandia to Enter Major European Markets

Initially catering to Finnish customers, Winlandia has been in the market for a decade, offering slots, table games, and live dealer titles. Now, the company wants to extend its reach by establishing an online presence across the world.

The first phase of its global expansion will be marked by launches in core European markets, including the UK, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden, as confirmed by the company’s Head of Acquisitions & PR, Christoffer Grönlund.

The rebranding comes as Finland is set to dismantle its gambling monopoly by 2026, in favor of a new licensing system which will also include both online casino gaming and sports betting. Under the new changes, the state-owned gambling monopoly Veikkaus will be split into separate companies. The major reforms are aimed at addressing problem gambling and improving the channelization rate to the legal market.

While Winlandia will now concentrate its efforts on expanding its operations, it will keep Finland close to its heart by aiming to become one of the first to apply for a license in the country once the new gambling regime comes into effect.

Winlandia will further boost its games portfolio to more than 5,500 titles, with the online casino also focused on improving localization, personalization, and conversion rate optimization as it enters new markets. Grönlund also said that the company will strive to stay ahead of competition by excelling across all areas, including branding, bonuses, games, payments, and customer service.

Winlandia is also eyeing other markets outside of Europe, such as Canada and New Zealand which will be part of the second phase of the company’s international expansion.
